Located two blocks from the new $4.5 billion Transbay Transit Center, San Francisco's Grand Central Station, and three blocks from the new 61-story Salesforce Tower, The Avery is a 56-story, 548-unit residential tower with upper floors featuring 118 luxury view condominiums and lower floors accommodating 280 luxury apartments and 150 affordable apartments. The ground floor features 17,000 square feet of neighborhood serving retail set around an open public paseo meandering through the site.

Related California and its proposed design and development concept was selected as a result of a highly competitive selection process held by the City of San Francisco.  The sculpted tower was designed by Rem Koolhaas' Office of Metropolitan Architecture (OMA-NY) partnering with the San Francisco architecture firm of Fougeron Architecture who designed the lower podium buildings of the development.  Related California partnered with Tenderloin Neighborhood Development Corporation on the affordable housing component of the development.
