As Senior Development Associate for Related California, Mr. Schiffer is responsible for supporting and assisting in all aspects of project management, including the design, financing, preconstruction, and construction of more than 300 affordable housing units throughout Southern California.
Mr. Schiffer comes to Related with a background in affordable housing development. Prior to joining Related, Mr. Schiffer was a Project Manager for Chelsea Investment Corporation (Chelsea), where he managed the acquisition, predevelopment, construction, and lease-up of 7 affordable multifamily developments. Additionally, he collaborated with governmental agencies, delivered presentations at City Council and Planning Commission meetings, formulated budgets, managed proformas, secured financing and orchestrated financial closings. Prior to his role at Chelsea, Mr. Schiffer served as an Associate Project Manager at Satellite Affordable Housing Associates (SAHA), where he assisted with every phase of affordable housing development, including feasibility analysis, pre-development design, financing, construction, loan close-out and the transition to property management.
Mr. Schiffer holds a Master of City Planning and a Bachelor of Science from the University of California, Berkeley.
