As Senior Vice President of Acquisitions and Asset Management for Related California, Mr. Richter is responsible for the management of Related California's market rate and affordable multifamily portfolios, and for sourcing acquisitions of existing affordable properties. He has over 18 years of real estate acquisitions and asset management experience, more than $1.5 billion in completed transactions, and a wealth of knowledge in multifamily acquisitions, asset management and capital structuring, as well as a broad history in multifamily asset classes including affordable, student housing and senior housing.
Since joining Related California in 2012, Mr. Richter has built and managed the company’s asset management practice and currently has oversight of a diverse portfolio with more than 10,000 market rate and affordable multifamily units, and 100,000 square feet of retail. He and his team manage all aspects of the stabilized portfolio, including financial and operational performance, leasing, capital spending and financing, as well as partner and lender reporting.
Mr. Richter holds a bachelor’s degree in Finance and Economics from University of San Francisco, and is a Chartered Financial Analyst charterholder.
