As Senior Vice President of Development for Related California, Mr. Walsh plays a lead role in sourcing and managing complex, mixed-use developments on the West Coast. He is responsible for all aspects of the development process, including design, entitlements, financing, construction, and asset management for Related’s market rate, mixed-income and mixed-use developments. In his 10 years at Related, he has been responsible for the execution of over $2 billion in completed developments.
Most recently, Mr. Walsh led the development of 1500 Mission and 49 South Van Ness, a mixed-income, mixed-use development with a 550-unit residential tower and a 460,000 square foot office building that was built on behalf of the City and County of San Francisco. Mr. Walsh was the primary point of contact for the City and their various departments on a daily basis leading the development to completion on budget and on schedule.
Prior to joining Related California, Mr. Walsh was an Associate at Related Companies in New York where he was responsible for various aspects of development and underwriting for three new ground-up residential projects totaling $570 million. He was also a Senior Analyst at CBRE Group, Inc. where he played an integral role in the sale of $6 billion of commercial real estate secured mortgage loans.
Mr. Walsh holds a bachelor's degree from Cornell University.
